Mortgage Secrets is an independent educational site about home financing in the United States and Canada. We explain how mortgages work — payments, interest, insurance, amortization, refinancing — and we track the major loan programs and professional training courses in both countries.

We are not a lender, broker or financial adviser, and we do not arrange loans. Our calculators produce estimates for learning purposes, and our articles explain the rules as we understand them, with the caveat that rules change and you should verify current details with a licensed professional.
